ब्रह्माण्ड-व्यापक रूप

नाम पाँच-सौ-एक से छह-सौ। माया, मूल-प्रकृति, सर्व-गा।

छठा खण्ड एक तरह की cosmological-दृष्टि से देखता है। ललिता को एक specific-देवी के रूप में नहीं, बल्कि सम्पूर्ण ब्रह्माण्ड के क्रियाशील-तत्त्व के रूप में। माया, मूल-प्रकृति, अव्यक्त, और सर्व-व्यापिनी, ये सब इस खण्ड के मूल-स्वर हैं।

सांख्य-दर्शन की तत्त्व-शब्दावली यहाँ अधिक सक्रिय है। पुरुष, प्रकृति, गुण, तन्मात्र, ये पारिभाषिक शब्द एक-दूसरे के साथ बैठाए गए हैं, ताकि एक अधिक systematic-दर्शन निकल सके।

देवी-भागवत के पाँचवें-स्कन्ध में, ललिता के ब्रह्माण्ड-व्यापी-रूप का वर्णन एक तरह की cosmic-snapshot की तरह है। चौदह लोकों के स्तर, उन-स्तरों पर बैठे विभिन्न देवता, और सब के पीछे ललिता का एक हल्की-मुस्कान वाला चेहरा। यह कल्पना बाद के देवी-कीर्तन-साहित्य की एक मूल-धारा बनी।

छठे-खण्ड में देवी का ‘ब्रह्माण्ड-व्यापक’ स्वरूप एक तरह की cosmological-poetry है। यह पैटर्न पुरुष-सूक्त (ऋग्वेद 10.90) से प्रेरित है, जहाँ विराट-पुरुष का सम्पूर्ण-ब्रह्माण्ड-व्यापी रूप वर्णित है। ललिता-सहस्रनाम उसी पुरुष-सूक्त के स्त्री-रूपान्तरण का काव्य-प्रयास है।

नाम पाँच-सौ-एक से छह-सौ तक के बीच आने वाले ‘तत्त्व-नाम’ सांख्य-दर्शन के पच्चीस-तत्त्वों से सीधे-जुड़ते हैं, मगर एक-नया-अनुक्रम बनाते हैं। सांख्य में ‘पुरुष’ और ‘प्रकृति’ दो-स्वतन्त्र-तत्त्व हैं, यहाँ देवी दोनों-का संयुक्त-स्वरूप हैं। यह दार्शनिक-समन्वय अद्वैत-वेदान्त-शैली का है।

‘ब्रह्माण्ड’ शब्द की उत्पत्ति ‘ब्रह्म-अण्ड’ से है, यानी ब्रह्म का अण्ड या cosmic-egg। यह उपमा प्राचीन-काल में मिस्र, यूनान, और चीन में भी मिलती है, मगर भारतीय-दर्शन में इसका विशेष-स्थान है। हिरण्य-गर्भ-सूक्त (ऋग्वेद 10.121) में भी यह अण्ड-कल्पना मिलती है।

‘महा-त्रिपुर-सुन्दरी’। यह ललिता का सबसे famous epithet है, और श्रीविद्या-परम्परा का केन्द्रीय-नाम। ‘त्रिपुर’ का अर्थ है ‘तीन-पुर’, यानी जागृत-स्वप्न-सुषुप्ति की तीन अवस्थाएँ। ललिता इन-तीनों में परम-सुन्दर हैं। दक्षिण-भारत में कांची-कामकोटि-पीठ की प्रमुख-देवी यही हैं, और शंकराचार्य द्वारा स्थापित पीठ-व्यवस्था में यह नाम सर्वोच्च माना जाता है। आज भी कांचीपुरम में ‘कामाक्षी अम्बल’ मन्दिर में नित्य-पूजा इसी नाम के साथ होती है।

‘मायातीता’। माया से परे। यह नाम अद्वैत-वेदान्त के ‘मायाधीन-जगत्’ की धारणा से देवी को मुक्त रखता है। शंकराचार्य ने ‘ब्रह्म-सत्यं जगन्-मिथ्या’ का सूत्र दिया, मगर देवी स्वयं माया से ऊपर हैं। यह दार्शनिक-position श्रीविद्या-परम्परा को अद्वैत-वेदान्त से जोड़ती भी है और कुछ-दूर-भी रखती है।

‘महा-शक्तिः’। परम-शक्ति। शक्ति-दर्शन का foundational-तत्त्व यहाँ नाम-रूप में आता है। तेरहवीं सदी के दक्षिण-भारत में मधुसूदन सरस्वती (हालाँकि वो बाद के काल में अधिक प्रसिद्ध हुए) ने ‘अद्वैत-सिद्धि’ रचना में शक्ति-तत्त्व पर विशेष ध्यान दिया। यह नाम सहस्रनाम के छह-सौ के मार्क पर आता है, ठीक उस-स्थान पर जहाँ ब्रह्माण्ड-व्यापक-शक्ति की चर्चा शुरू होती है।
